Tonight, I turned on The Lion King because I thought Lily would love to see all of the animals and listen to the songs. I figured I would just fast-forward through the scary parts of the movie and no harm would be done…
Well, remember this scene?
Moments before this scene, baby Simba is resting in the arms of his mother… Then, that crazy old monkey takes the baby from his mama and raises him up to show the whole pride…. Bad idea Monkey, bad idea. Lily lost it. As soon as Rafiki (crazy monkey) took Simba from his lion-mom, a flood was released from Lily’s eyes.
“Baby!!!! BABY!!!!!!!!” She cried and cried. We tried to show her that the baby was ok, but no use.
“BABYYYYYYY!!! BAAAAAABY!” She kept crying. Tears everywhere.
It has been 20 minutes, she is now watching Elmo and is still sniffling. She let’s out the occasional “baby” *sniff* “baby”
I am sure she will talk about this for days. It was traumatic.
Lily’s favorite movie is “Wimpy da Tid” (Diary of a Wimpy Kid). She loves it. She can watch it over and over again (not that we let her, of course). But before bed? It is her favorite. Odd… I would’ve thought a cartoon would be more popular, but no. She loves Wimpy da Tid (we had to buy it, of course). Also, she cannot really say her C’s and K’s… they all come out as T’s. “Annie Dute” instead of saying Annie Duke (our cat’s nickname), Wimpy Tid, Titty Tat….
**Update: Yesterday, I was a neglectful mom and let my daughter watch Wimpy da Tid twice. TWICE. She watch attentively the whole time.
We have been bad about blogging lately. I, Stacey, was the main blogger… now that I am at work, the blogging doesn’t happen as much (hint, hint, Andy). The blog is a great way for me to keep track of Lily’s milestones, and I don’t want to lose that. So, here is a list of updates about things she does / likes, etc… Stop reading if this will bore you.
Wednesday Night, 8:24pm: Dropped off Lily at Grandma and Grandpa’s for an hour break. Andy and I came down to Borders to play on our computers. Oh, how I miss the days of sitting at Borders, pregnant with Lily, wondering all about her… Oh yeah — and how I miss watching that couple I used to stalk *you know, that couple having the affair??? Whatever happened to them? Aren’t you curious?
I’m married to Superman Dad.
Thanks, honey!
Cereal that is not name brand is disgusting. (Right before I plow into a bowl of “Nutty Nuggets.”)
