Single Ladies

Lily’s new favorite song?? Single Ladies…. I don’t know how this happened, but it did.

Here is a video of Lily in the car with Andy, Isabella and I.  Some of it is dark (so there is just audio)… It is a little bit long, but fun.

Salem Riverfront Park

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Earlier this month, my dad, Andy and I played in a poker tournament series over at Spirit Mountain.  However, there was one day that Andy and my dad played, when I did not.  Instead, I took Lily over to the Salem Riverfront Park.  We had never been there before, but we heard it had a carousel.  The riverfront was awesome:  a great indoor carousel (open year round), fountains, a nice park… Lily loved it and so did I.  Here are a few pictures from the day:

Sicky Girl

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Lily is a sicky girl. Don’t know what it is — some sort of viral something. She always throws up when she is sick. THROWS UP. Andy and I have the clean-up routine down. She only really throws up between the hours of Midnight – 3am (when she is laying down, asleep, as are we):

WAAAAAAAA, WAAAAAAA… Bolt out of bed, to Lily’s room in the pitch black. Reach down to get her. Uh oh. Chunks, wet, something. “ANDY! I NEED YOU.” Up out of bed. Lily and I in the shower (clothes on and all). Andy cleans up. Lily and mom showered and asleep in “Mama’s Bed.” Dad kicked out to the office bed.

That’s about how it goes.

And, as I typing now she pulled her stool over to the counter so that she could climb up and grab, grab, grab. Result? Coffee all over the floor. It was just a handful of days ago that she learned to carry the stool around to get up high. And, it was just a handful of days ago that she has started her throwing phase. Everything gets thrown.

On a happier note, here are some pictures I took using the computer camera (not best quality, but cute):

“Andy’s Genes, My Jeans”

“Sick and snuggling”

Lily thinks that “Good Job, Lily” is a number… I have desperately tried to get her on video while counting to 10. She is tired of me trying (so is Dad, too, I am sure). Here is all I have been able to get:

Quiet Time

Friday, August 13th, 2010

I caught Lily on tap right before nap time.  She was being so cute, playing all on her own.  And, if you listen carefully, you will notice that she went potty in the bathroom all by herself (not in the toilet, mind you, just in the bathroom).

Internet Again

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Andy, Lily and I are enjoying our vacation like you couldn’t imagine.  Erik (Andy’s friend) left for England yesterday and we are staying at his house in Scotts Valley for a few more days (near Santa Cruz).  He has no internet, no TV, nothing.  Really, it has been awesome to be away from all of the electronic distractions.  Andy and I have worked out every day (running, swimming and lots of walking), we have gone to the Boardwalk / Beach, and just done nothing but family, family, family.

However, Andy and Lily are at home napping (or one of them is trying to….) and I decided to come down to a coffee shop with internet to post on the blog.  I have written LOTS OF POSTS below so make sure you scroll all the way down to see everything!

Today, we went to a Children’s Museum in San Jose.  We spent a good 3 hours there and Lily was in heaven.

June

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Overnight (basically), Lily has started repeating.  She will repeat anything I ask her to repeat.  Obviously it is still with a baby accent, but she will attempt any word.

She has a pretty good list of words that she uses on a regular basis:  Egg (Andy says she says it with a German accent), home (that is the car), keys, sauce (apple sauce), Elmo, cracker, sock, doctor, diaper, and a bunch more.  I am just trying to list some of the new ones.

She will sing “La la la, Elmo Song.”  And, the other day, she said “Elmo Sauce” either accidentally or purposefully, who knows… but now she says it all the time and thinks that it is pretty funny.  Elmo Sauce, Elmo Sauce.

Rain, rain, go away.

I am wrapping up work this week.  I have been working A LOT.  A LOT.  Andy, Lorna, Grandpa *Bob-bob* and Grandma *Na-Ma* have been watching Lily a lot while I have had a busy, busy month.  Tomorrow ends my last day of any real “tutoring” and then I will just have grading for Wednesday and Thursday… then I will be done.  I look forward to having more time with Lily (the hardest thing about working is obviously being away from her) — I foresee plenty of days swimming, library time, walks to the park.  If only that rain rain would go away.

Here is what Lily thinks wearing a winter coat in June:

Did I share these?
