Grandma Sunday

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

No, this isn’t the new treat down at Cold Stone, this is what I called today’s babysitting epic. Lily was finally able to spend a day with both grandmas babysitting. And, since she came home without any broken bones or disfigurements that we can’t tell her tenth-grade boyfriend(s) about, I would say it was a success!

Grandma Sundae

Here’s a list of items we made sure to have ready and available for Grandma/s, just in case…:

  1. Full and ready bottle
  2. Rag to wipe down any leftovers from #1
  3. Plenty of diapers
  4. Plenty of wipes
  5. Blankets to keep her warm
  6. A tiger or bunny outfit at least three months too-big (just to make sure she looks overwhelmed and cute.)

Having the break allowed Stacey to do some tutoring and for me to go out and play golf with Grandpa Bob. With this success, we may even consider doing it again ;)

Thanks Grandmas!

Waiting…

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

I’m sitting here in the delivery room right now. Waiting for baby Lily to come. Stacey is sleeping. Finally! She’s been up since Monday morning at about 8:00 am. So, this is her first little bit of rest in over 36 hours.

The contractions are pretty regular, about every minute or two. But, the doctors and nurses think that with normal progression, she will be delivering around 5:00 am, Wednesday morning, October 8th. (10-8-08) for you Asian number-lovers *wink wink, Grandma*.

Anyway, I just thought that I would let everyone know that Stacey has been a real trooper. She has taken it all wonderfully, allowing (what seems-like) hundreds of visitors come and spend time with her, bring her food, company, attention.

Kristy and Bob have been here all day, keeping us company. They’re great.

So, it’s time to get back. Probably next post will be about our new addition.

Debate

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

I’m watching the VP Debate right now, and I have to say that I am loving Joe Biden. He is intelligent, quick, responsive, and honest. He addresses the content of the questions with direct answers. He has given me full confidence in his and Obama’s leadership.

Palin on the other-hand is an absolute actress. She doesn’t even know what she is saying. In fact, if you pay attention to her responses, it appears that she answers with rhythmic word-recognition; “Maverick,” “Surge and Resurgence,” etc. It’s a sad display of republican figure-heading. “Dawgonnit,” she’s a moron!

If she keeps winking, I’m going to throw up.

Anyway, just thought I would put in a word or two. Joe Biden is awesome. I have full confidence in his leadership, cognizance, and awareness of reality.

New Job

OSU Federal Credit Union

So far the new job is going pretty well.

For those of you who are unaware, I am the new Web Administrator at OSU Federal Credit Union.

It is nice to finally be able to work for an organization where I can not only support the members, staff, and supervisors, but also contribute to the strategic vision of the business itself; in my case, this is with regards to the website and how we will best serve the Credit Union’s members.

I think a major contributor to their hiring of me was not just my experience as a web designer/developer, but also as a business owner and that I know how to direct a successful online business and strategically make sound decisions. They have made me feel very welcome, and I am happy – to say the least – to be joining the OSU Federal team.
