Nachos

The other night, Stacey and I went to Albertson’s to purchase some milk, bread, and something else that I forget right now. As we were checking out, there was a tall, Pillsbury-looking Asian guy in his 20′s in front of us. His assortment of goods included:

  • 2 bags of spicy *hot* Cheetos
  • 2 king-sized Kit Kat packages
  • 1 jar of nacho cheese sauce
  • 1 bottle of Brüt champagne

Having experience as a “gamer” myself, I knew this guy was in for a long night of fun. No other male demographic buys this dinner assortment late at night. And, I couldn’t help but be a little bit jealous…

Too Funny

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

I just turned to Andy and told him:  “Lily and I just went out and did the W-A-T-E-R.”  I wanted to let him know we already watered the plants in the garden so he doesn’t take her outside to do it later.  I obviously had to spell it, so Lily wouldn’t hear me and want to do it again.  But, right after I finished telling Andy, Lily turned up to look at me, pointed outside and said “Wa Wa?”

Early Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

Yesterday, Andy and I “celebrated Mother’s Day”…. This means: Do whatever Stacey wants for the whole day.  It was a very excellent day.

It started with breakfast at Noah’s Bagels and a walk in the Farmers’ Market.  Then, we stopped at a few shops to pick up some plants and materials for our vegetable garden.  We dropped Lily off at Grandma’s to take a nap and we headed home to get some work done.  There was much work to be done in our backyard.  We weed-whacked, cleaned the grill inside and out, mowed, pressure-washed, you name it.  Lorna came for grilled burgers then we planted in the garden.  So far we have: 4 tomato plants,, 3 basil, garlic (will grow for fall), cilantro, chives, spinach, and chard.  I still need to plant jalapenos, then we will be set.

Lily just fell asleep in my arms (15 minutes before we have to go to dinner)… no more typing for now.

Morning Art

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Lily and I came downstairs at 8am.  She proceeded to climb up on the chair, find her pen and paper and start drawing.  It is now 8:30am.  I have been doing computer stuff (emails, facebook, blogs, etc…).  She spent 30 minutes drawing all by herself without a peep.

Stacey:  “You are dehydrated.”

Andy (snaps):  “You don’t know anything about me.”

Remember that goal to have someone visit our site from every state?  2 states to go… Still need Montana and Alabama.

May

Time for May already?

Yesterday, Lily went the first day (that I can remember) with NO nap.  No nap.  Not even 10 minutes.  Nothing.  She had awakened around 9am and went to bed (exhausted) around 9pm.  What a girl.

Also, don’t forget Elmo.  Elmo (her small stuffed toy) goes everywhere and does everything.  Elmo eats.  Elmo takes naps.  Elmo pushes the buttons on the fire truck.  Elmo, Elmo, Elmo.  She cried for him the other night when going to bed.

What else?

I took Lily to the fire station the other day to look at fire trucks.  We are still on a truck / tractor phase.  She loved it.

She is so much fun (I know, I say that all of the time).  Every day gets more fun than the last (well, not really, since every day is already so fun, how could it get more fun???)

Here are some pictures with Baby Winter (3 weeks old already….)
