Good morning, Lily

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Good morning, Lily. Your schedule has been a couple hours off normal since we had the Triathlon on Monday. Both you and Mom need your rest. But, it has been real special to see you in the mornings — even if it’s just to change your diaper.

I will be home a lot more, soon. I have it scheduled so that when I am working from home, I play with you at 3:00 in the afternoons – every day! This will give Mom a chance to get some work done, climb stairs at the gym, or on some days, play with us!

I love you, and hope you are also excited about going to Las Vegas. You get to fly in a plane for the first time. It will be scary, it will be loud, it will be exhilirating.

I look forward to more of this, baby girl. Have a great day.

5 more days

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Andy has 5 more work days left (his final day is June 5th).

Today was our team triathlon.  We got second place in our division (mixed teams, under 105 combined age).  Not too shabby.  I had a really rough start in the swim.  I have caught the cold going around our family and swimming doesn’t mix too well with a stuffy nose!  All things considered, I didn’t do too poorly, but was about 2 minutes behind my goal time.  Oh well!  The rest of my team did great, especially Brooke who did the running segment.  It was great fun and we look forward to doing it again.

On Thursday we leave for Las Vegas (Thursday-Tuesday).  That will be great fun!  Hopefully all will be healthy by then.

That is the news from our end.

More Sleep

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Andy came home early from our friends house to go to bed early.  I came home with Lily at 8:30, put her in bed and she fell asleep in minutes.  Andy was already asleep.  A house all to myself with everyone asleep?

Chili, Real Housewives of New Jersey and internet poker… Ahh, downstairs with my feet up on the coffee table.  This is the life.

I think Lily will be sprouting another tooth soon – she has the same little face rash that she had last time before her teeth came in (she just has her two bottom ones now).

Andy’s work schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday next week, then Wednesday-Friday the following week and then he is done!

Sleepy Time

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Lily is sick, but getting better.  A snuffy nose with chest congestion.  Poor boogery girl.

Last night we put her in her crib at 9:45pm.  There she has slept, and is still sleeping and it is now 8am!  I checked on her about 3 times last night.

I spoke too soon.  She just cried.  Mom to the rescue!

Ready for it?

Ready for the news?

Andy quit his job!!! I couldn’t be happier!

Who needs a paycheck, right?

Today is the day!

What for?

Can’t tell you.

Yet.

TADA!

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Last night on a whim, I decided to put not-so-little Lily into her own crib – if at very least to give myself some relief and help her fall asleep.  She cried for ONE minute and fell asleep at 9:45pm.  I watched some TV on my computer and fell asleep around 11:30pm.  I awakended at 5:30am.  Not a peep from her all night.  I went to check from her and she was sleeping.  Back to bed.  At 6:45, Andy woke and went in to get her – although she wasn’t crying — just playing in bed.

What a good girl!  And, how refreshing to get some uninterrupted sleep.  Might have to try this again.

1st Mother's Day

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Today was my first Mother’s Day, and it was wonderful!

Lily spent the night with my mom on Saturday night so Andy and I could get some rest.  Here is what my Mother’s Day looked like:

Waking up around 9:30 and going down to the Le Patissier only to find out that they had already sold out of everything by 10am due to the big Mother’s Day rush!  Hmph!  Plan B (designed on the spot): go to the Beanery right next door.

After breakfast, we went to pick up Lily and proceeded to go with my parents on a walk (with both dogs) around our neighborhood.  It was nice to get outside and to be active.

We continued to Starbucks (I didn’t get coffee at the Beanery and needed some!) on the way to pick out part of my Mother’s Day present.  Andy had decided to buy me a Miche purse with a few “skins”.  I had never heard of this purse, but it is very cool!  You buy a basic “base purse” and then attach magnetic outsides to change its appearance.  Very cleaver and fun.  He took me to pick out the two skins/covers I wanted:

Then, Andy was an excellent sport while I dragged him around shopping for the day.  Normally this isn’t his thing, but he was willing for Mother’s Day.  TJ Maxx to get Andy new jeans, Ross to find nothing good, The Toy Factory to buy Lily some new stretch pants and tights!  By the way, at The Toy Factory you can buy 2 pairs of tights for $4.50 or you can buy the same tights separately for $2.00 each… What?!?

After shopping, it was off to visit some friends for a moment and then to my parent’s house to get ready for dinner.  We went and had great Thai food at the Woodsman in Philomath.

That about sums up our day.  It was fabulous.

Change is Coming

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

Andy has designed us a new design for our little website blog, which will be updated soon.  I am excited!

Lily’s main nicknames are:

  • Pai Pai
  • The Biggies
  • Little Doo-Goo
  • Speaker Mouse
  • Spirolina

We have a “change” coming soon I hope!  Does that peak your interest?

I have updated the “Links” on the bottom left hand corner of our site with the websites/blogs that I currently follow.  Abby & Denny’s blog (Bain Blog) is private, but I follow many other blogs off of their list that I haven’t listed!
