3D Baby

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Here is a 3D ultrasound picture taken of Baby Lily.  It was taken on July 29.

Also, I had another check-up yesterday (8/25).  I have check-ups every two weeks now.  The doctor says that everything looks good.  Baby’s heart beat is stable and healthy!  I am approximately 32.5 weeks along and all seems on track.

Andy's REAL Job

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Here are some photos from Andy’s second day of work!  After his first day of signing paperwork, meeting people, etc…, they final gave him his real assignment:  Bodyguard for the Mascot, Scottie.

That’s right!  Andy got to spend his second day on the job carrying the umbrella for the mascot… Making sure he was dry and cared for during his birthday party.

Andy got hired right around “Scottie’s Birthday” where the bank throws an outdoor party for all of the kids to come and eat corn dogs and ice cream.  Andy had a choice between being the face painter or a different job.  Not knowing the full extent and excitement that would ensue if he didn’t paint faces, he wound up as the “Scottie Guard.”

I went and spent an hour in the rain to enjoy my corn dog and ice cream.  Fortunately I was able to snap some pictures of Andy in action.

New Job

OSU Federal Credit Union

So far the new job is going pretty well.

For those of you who are unaware, I am the new Web Administrator at OSU Federal Credit Union.

It is nice to finally be able to work for an organization where I can not only support the members, staff, and supervisors, but also contribute to the strategic vision of the business itself; in my case, this is with regards to the website and how we will best serve the Credit Union’s members.

I think a major contributor to their hiring of me was not just my experience as a web designer/developer, but also as a business owner and that I know how to direct a successful online business and strategically make sound decisions. They have made me feel very welcome, and I am happy – to say the least – to be joining the OSU Federal team.

Grandma Wanda

The morning of the baby shower, my mom told me the following story:

When she and my dad were in Taiwan (earlier this year, in February), she kept having dreams about a baby.  After a few nights of dreaming of a new baby, she told my dad that they just had to go buy something for the new baby – she didn’t know whose new baby or what, but she just kept having dreams and knew that she needed to bring something home from Taiwan for the new baby — a gift that she purchased herself.

Well, what do you know… Mom brought home a beautiful robe/wrap for the new baby in her dreams.  Little did she know that the new baby would be her first granddaughter, Lily Lin Vaughn.

Baby Shower

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Shauna (and Mom) threw me a baby shower this last Saturday.  It was great to see everyone, even though it was very warm!  We played “guess what baby food” and “guess what melty-chocolatey-candy is in the diaper”.  Here are lots of photos!

Baby's Room

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Shauna and I have been painting the baby’s room (ok, mostly Shauna… I just try to stay inside the lines). It is not all the way finished, but here are some photos of what we have done:

Her room is still pretty messy — we are organizing all of the generous gifts that were given to Lily at the baby shower.

Ultrasounds / Life

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

For those who haven’t seen some ultrasound pictures, here they are.

These ultrasound pictures were taken July 2, 2008. My first doctors appointment was June 30. That is when the doctor confirmed that I was not only pregnant, but I was nearly 6 months pregnant with a baby girl. Two days later I went in for my first ultrasound…

The most recent ultrasound picture is a 3D image of baby Lily. I cannot figure out how to post it, I will have to wait for Andy to come home. Speaking of Andy… Today is his second day at his new job — he is working as a web designer/developer and OSU Federal Credit Union. So far so good, but who knows, it is only the second day! He has been doing a great job of getting to bed by 10pm each night so that he can wake up and work out a 6am (he works 8am-5pm daily). His responsibility every night is to iron and de-cat-hair his clothes for the next day (he wears a shirt and tie everyday)… My responsibility is to pack his lunch!

New Pictures

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Here are some new pictures of Andy and me, taken August 16.  The baby is due October 16 (give or take who knows how long).  I also just got a new haircut!  The days have been miserably hot and long hair was not working.

Annie

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Here are a few pictures of our cat, Annie.  Annie is a little over 1 year old.  She looks cute and innocent.  She loves to play in water, whether that means splashing around in her water bowl or waiting until the bath tub is almost drained and then jumping in!

First signs….

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

The first one was so I could see a negative sign and go to bed. The second one was to make sure the first one wasn’t wrong. The third one was to make sure the first and second weren’t wrong! (First two taken Saturday, June 28… Third taken Sunday Morning, June 29.)

I am pregnant!
